Appointments
Appointment System
Demand for appointments and home visits vary daily. To request an appointment please call the practice or submit an econsult via our website from 8am Monday to Friday. For a Home Visit request please enable GPs to arrange capacity within that day's clinics by informing the practice between 8am and 11am whenever possible.
Our GPs triage all requests to prioritise appointments and to ensure that patients are offered the most appropriate appointment based on the clinical need of the patient and with the most appropriate health care professional or service.
The simplest way to make an appointment request is the econsult link on our website. However, for those unable to access online forms please call the practice when open. When calling the receptionist will ask you for your name and DOB and confirm your telephone number. If you need to speak to a doctor urgently, because it is an emergency, tell the receptionist straightaway.
Our receptionist will ask you generally for information about your health problem and "if appropriate" care navigate to more appropriate member of the team e.g physiotherapy, pharmacy. The information you can provide will help the doctor(s) prioritise the call back based on patients' needs and any urgent priority. It does not have to be detailed information just general guidance such as Sticky Eye, or dizziness and how long you have been poorly. The receptionist is not prioritising your call the GP will do this from the information you have provided. If you do not wish to discuss your symptoms with the receptionist, then please state this to the receptionist.
If you want to talk to a specific Doctor or Nurse at the practice, please tell the receptionist and whenever possible we will try to arrange this. This may not always be possible, but we aim to provide continuity of care.
If your doctor thinks you need to come into the surgery to be seen, or if you would still like to come in, he or she will make an appointment for you when triaging or discussing the symptoms.

Obviously, we will take calls for an emergency visit at any time. Our reception staff will ask for you telephone number and other details, to enable to doctor to assess the urgency of the call.
Please remember:- 3 or 4 patients may be seen in the surgery in the time that it takes to visit 1 patient at home.
The facilities for investigation and treatment are much better at the surgery and we therefore ask all patients to attend if possible.
