TRAVEL ADVICE

Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate. Please telephone reception to book an appointment. 

Our nurses can provide travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.

Travel Vaccination Prices

Travel advice is covered by the NHS; however some vaccinations and prescriptions are only available privately. Payment for non-NHS services must be made at the first travel appointment.

The following vaccines are immediately available in the surgery:

NHS: Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid

The following vaccines will require ordering after payment is received:

Non-NHS: Hepatitis B (adult) £36 per dose (usually 3 or 4 required), Rabies £60 per dose (usually 3 required)

Hepatitis B (child) £36.  Meningitis ACWY, £50 plus certificate.  Japanese Encephalitis, Tick-borne Encephalitis (usually course of 3) £105 for full course.

All anti-malaria medications can be purchased directly for a pharamcy without prescription.

Yellow Fever vaccination is  available  from the  Discovery Practice at £65.00 per vaccine.
