We are now booking appointments for COVID vaccinations for our patients following the guidance from NHS England of which cohorts we must prioritise first and we will contact you to arrange your appointment when it is your turn. Clinics will be held at our designated Thorntree site NOT at the Discovery Practice.
Patients will need to have 2 vaccinations to be protected and we will be contacting patients to book their appointments.
We will also be holding walk-in-clinics at our Thorntree site, please click Walk in Clinic for details of dates and times.

The Practice premises have suitable access for all disabled patients. Access to the Health Centre is by lift or stairs from The Mall Shopping Centre or the Centre Car Park.
Access during the pandemic -
Discovery practice made a considered decision amid the pandemic to have an intercom system at the entrance of the practice to manage infection control and create a safe environment for patients who needed to attend.
In line with easing of restrictions and significant numbers of patients vaccinated we have opened the doors.
Please only enter the premises if you have an appointment or your problem cannot be dealt with on the phone. If you're suffering from symptoms suggestive of coronavirus or isolating you MUST NOT enter the premises.
As restrictions lift, we are still seeing increasing cases and need to be vigilant.
Please enter the premises use the hand gel on arrival and be prepared to have a temperature scan. We are screening all patients coming for booked appointments before attendance. This is keeping our staff and other patients safe and to reduce the risk of infection from coronavirus.
Although wearing face masks is no longer mandatory, NHS England guidance states all staff and visitors must continue to wear face masks and maintain social distancing in all healthcare settings. Our GP's and staff will wear a mask to protect you, we would appreciate if you would also wear a mask to protect our staff. Especially for a face to face appointments. Without our staff we would not be able to provide a service for you.
We would encourage you to use the eConsult facility on our website. If your problem is not urgent this is a useful way of accessing advice. Your support in helping us with infection control measures is appreciated.
